It’s finally here! The unofficial start to summer at the New Jersey Shore is Memorial Day weekend. Here on Long Beach Island, we know it’s summer when the boulevard lights go on and the merchants open their doors for the season. It’s a wonderful time to enjoy the warmer weather, the sun, and all that our beautiful island has to offer. Once you arrive and are settled in, the question is what to do? For anyone interested in fishing, there’s the 15th Annual Beach Haven Marlin & Tuna Club (BHMTC) LBI Cup Invitational Tournament. All registered anglers are welcome to join us for weigh ins and awards. Detail are available at their website lbicup.com

One of our favorite things to do is the Viking Village Craft Show. With all kinds of vendors and free admission, rain or shine, this is a great way to spend the day. It’s at Viking Village from 10 am to 4:30 pm. http://www.vikingvillageshows.com/
Memorial Day, Monday
The Surf City Memorial Day Observance is the perfect celebration to honor the sacrifices of our armed forces. This event is from 11 am to 11 pm
