For those who live on Long Beach Island area and have sustained fifty percent or more damage to their homes rebuilding is a daunting task. These homeowners know all too well that finding plans to fit on an undersized lot, ie. a 40’ wide building lot is nearly impossible. So, what does a homeowner who needs to rebuild their beach bungalow, but can’t find plans, do in this situation? Stonehenge Building & Development has the answer!
Recently, we began working with a homeowner who is in this very situation. Realizing that there are scores of homeowners who are facing the challenge of rebuilding on undersized lots in northern Long Beach Island, we have begun the process of developing a beautiful home design that will fit on an undersized lot. We are providing a few different variations of the plan that can go from 1300 square feet up to 2000 square feet with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The exterior design is a traditional “beachy” looking cottage style house that will fit perfectly amongst the beach homes existing from Beach Haven to Barnegat Light. Many of our customers who will be building this new design need the price range and the ability to modify it to fit our homeowner’s needs is the perfect answer to this problem.
Through working with our architect to provide this new plan for undersized lots, we have also begun modifying the plan of our 84thStreet custom home in Harvey Cedars. This plan is the perfect design for a conforming 50’ lot with 2500 square feet of living space and since building the original one in Harvey Cedars, we have customized and built three more! Once a home is designed, modifying the plans to fit our customer’s personality and lifestyle can be easy. The challenges of rebuilding our Jersey Shore have only just begun, but with some forward thinking and a great design team and builder we believe we will come back better than ever. It’s our goal to continue to help those affected by Superstorm Sandy get back into homes that work for both their family and their lot.
