Things to do on Long Beach Island this Holiday weekend

Summer has arrived at the New Jersey shore! We’re so excited for Fourth of July weekend. We might be biased but we think LBI offers some of the best summer entertainment around. There’s nowhere else we would rather be than on the beach or enjoying some dining or shopping during the holiday. If you’re not from around here & you are looking for some fun, here are our favorite things to do on Long Beach Island this holiday weekend.

Let’s start with Friday, since so many people are maximizing the already long weekend. On Friday we love the Beach Haven Artisan Craft Market. This runs every Friday from 9AM to 12 noon throughout the summer, with the last market on August 25th. It’s at Veteran’s Park in Beach Haven and features so many local artisans and crafters who are sharing their handmade items with the LBI community. Later on, after you’ve shopped until you drop, head on over to the Fire Pit Fridays from 7-9 PM at the 68th Street Beach in Long Beach Township  for some great music. There are different bands each week and this great event runs weekly through September 1st.

Saturday offers more crafts at Harvey Cedars Sunset Park with Craft Day by the Bay from 10AM to 12 Noon. There will be 70+ vendors, free admission, and free parking too! Also, from 10AM to 12 Noon is a Foul Shooting Contest at Zachariah Ball Field in Surf City. This is free event and offers prizes for kids 18 and under. Join Long Beach Township on the 68th Street Beach on Sunday, July 2nd from 12 Noon to 2PM for some great local music, sun, & sand. This Sunday will feature The Pickles.  On Monday, July 3rd you can get some great produce and baked goods at the Surf City Farmers Market from 8AM to 12 Noon at the Surf City Firehouse. There’s also a fun event for the kiddos on July 4th at Shop Bottom Bay Beach called Critter Round Up from 11AM to Noon. It’s provided by Alliance for Living Ocean and you can find out what lives in our very own Barnegat Bay. It’s free, but you can register here. They also accept donations.

If you’re looking for fireworks, there are a few scheduled throughout the holiday weekend.

Monday, July 3rd Fireworks in Surf City at 9PM at Bay Beach on 16th Street. Beach Haven’s fireworks are at the Taylor Ave. Ball Field beginning at dusk. You can also buy tickets to the Fireworks Bayfront Viewing & Clambake at QC Market in Beach Haven. There are so many things to do all summer long throughout the towns of Long Beach Island. One of our favorite spots to research all things LBI is the LBI Chamber of Commerce website. Here you’ll get A-Z listings of all the great points of interest in all the awesome towns.

LBI is the place to be on the holiday weekend. With plenty of things to do, you won’t be disappointed. We would also like to remind you that being in a new custom home with family and friends can be a great way to celebrate! If you are looking for your perfect custom home on LBI, look no further.
